Mead Making for Beginners

Bio:
My name is Jake Warrick, and I am an Army Veteran, and the Founder and Head Mazer of Big Howdy's Meadery. As the Head Mazer, I am in charge of all of the making of the mead; I head all of the R&D of different flavors and the production of our already established flavors. Outside the company, I am a full-time student at Iowa State University pursuing a bachelor's degree in Animal Science with an undergraduate certificate in Beef Cattle Production Management. I plan on pursuing a master's in Breeding and Genetics, focusing on beef cattle. On campus, I am Vice President of the Student Veterans of America chapter and work with other student veterans to organize events for the Student Veterans on campus.
We are still in the start-up phase of our business but are excited to see what the future holds. The company exists because I had decided to try making mead at the tail end of COVID-19, and when I shared my mead with my friends, all of them told me I needed to make this a product and sell it. Currently, the four flavors we will have at launch are Route 69, an original honey mead; Fireberry, a raspberry jalapeno mead; Twighlight Prairie, a blueberry basil mead; and Hit the Hay, a vanilla Chamomile mead.
